Interpretation

Words with initial capital letters have meanings defined below. These definitions apply whether they appear in singular or plural form.

Definitions

• Account — a unique user profile created to access Sportii and join or organize games.
• Application / Platform — the Sportii web app (sportii.app) and related interfaces operated by the Company.
• Company — SportMeet Oy, (“Sportii”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), 3427424-5.
• Cookies — small files stored on your device to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior.
• Country — refers to Finland.
• Device — any device capable of accessing the Service (computer, smartphone, tablet).
• Personal Data — any information that can identify you directly or indirectly.
• Service — the Sportii platform, including the website, web app, booking system, and chat features.
• Service Provider — any third-party partner who processes data on behalf of Sportii (e.g., Stripe, Supabase, analytics tools).
• Usage Data — automatically collected data generated by your use of the Service (e.g., pages visited, device type, IP address).
• You / User — the individual using the Service.

2. Types of Data We Collect

Personal Data You Provide

When creating an account or using Sportii, we may collect:

• First name and last name
• Email address
• Profile photo (optional)
• Age or date of birth (for eligibility verification)
• Contact details (e.g., phone number, if provided)
• Payment details (via Stripe — not stored by us)
• Messages sent via in-app chats
• Feedback, reviews, or other content you post

Usage Data (Automatic Collection)

Collected automatically through Supabase and analytics tools, including:

• IP address, browser type, device type
• Access timestamps and session duration
• Referring URLs and in-app navigation behavior
• Game or venue browsing and participation patterns

Location Data

If you grant permission, we may collect approximate or precise location data to show nearby games or venues. You can disable location permissions in your device settings at any time.

Social Login Data

If you register through Google or Apple, we collect your name, email, and profile picture as provided by the social account. You may revoke these permissions from your third-party account settings.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve functionality, remember preferences, and analyze usage. Types of cookies we use:

• Essential Cookies — required for login, payments, and security.
• Preference Cookies — remember your settings, like language or sport filters.
• Analytics Cookies — help us understand how users engage with Sportii (e.g., via Plausible or Google Analytics).

You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the Service.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your Personal Data to:

• Provide and maintain the Service (game listings, bookings, payments, and communications).
• Manage your account and authenticate users through Supabase.
• Process payments securely through Stripe.
• Contact you with game updates, notifications, or support messages.
• Send marketing or promotional emails (only if you opt in).
• Analyze and improve the platform’s usability and performance.
• Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.
• Create anonymized statistics for business analytics and service optimization.

We never sell your personal data.

5. Sharing of Data

We share your data only when necessary and under strict data protection terms:

• Supabase (database, authentication, storage) — cloud data hosting in the EU.
• Stripe (payments) — processes your payment details securely.
• Analytics providers — to monitor performance and usage trends.
• Communication tools — for email, chat, or notifications.
• Legal authorities — only if required by law or valid request.

All partners comply with GDPR or equivalent standards.

6. Marketing Communications

We may send updates or promotions related to Sportii events, new sports, or features — but only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe anytime by:

• Clicking “Unsubscribe” in our emails, or
• Emailing contact@sportii.app

We never send third-party marketing without your explicit consent.

7. Retention of Your Data

We keep your Personal Data only as long as needed for the purposes stated here:

• Account data — kept while your account is active and up to 2 years after deletion (for legal compliance).
• Usage data — anonymized or deleted after 12 months.
• Payment records — retained for 6–10 years, per EU tax laws.
• Backups — automatically deleted after 30–90 days.

When retention periods expire, data is deleted or anonymized securely.

8. International Data Transfers

We primarily store and process data in the EU/EEA. If data is transferred outside the EU (e.g., via Stripe or Supabase), it is protected by:

• EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and
• Adequate data protection safeguards per GDPR Article 46.

9. Data Security

We use modern security standards, including:

• SSL/TLS encryption for data transmission
• Role-based access control in Supabase
• Stripe-certified PCI-DSS compliance
• Regular database backups and monitoring

However, no online system is 100% secure. You use Sportii at your own risk but we work continuously to enhance protection.

10. Your Data Protection Rights (GDPR)

As an EU resident, you have the following rights:

• Access – request copies of your data.
• Rectification – request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”) – request deletion of your data.
• Restriction – limit how we process your data.
• Portability – request a copy of your data in a usable format.
• Objection – object to processing, including marketing.
• Withdraw consent – where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any rights, contact privacy@sportii.app. We respond within 30 days, as required by law. If you believe we mishandled your data, you may also contact your national Data Protection Authority (DPA).

11. Children’s Privacy

Sportii is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors under 16 without verified parental consent. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

12. Links to Other Websites

The Service may include links to third-party sites (e.g., venue maps, social media). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review each third party’s Privacy Policy before sharing personal data.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date. Major updates will be communicated by email or in-app notification.
